Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Location was absolutely excellent for getting to and from where we needed around the city and suburbs, the property was divided well (multiple units out of one old villa), and the interior design was modern and comfortable. It was also great to have a washer/dryer on hand.

Negative: We didn’t actually get to stay in this specific property, we were informed a week out from arrival that there was a double booking and we were offered another unit on the property. I have to leave my review on this property listing as the property did not adjust our booking to match their change. We were happy to still have somewhere to stay, however we had booked this particular unit because it had 2 double beds and AC, and the layout was more spacious. The unit we were moved to (Unit 3) had only 1 double bed and no AC (I was not aware that we would no longer have AC prior to accepting the change). In particular having no AC made our stay more uncomfortable as it was particularly hot during our stay and we had purposefully booked accommodation with AC with this in mind. Additionally, the main bedroom has an exterior door with no curtain, so headlights from others staying at the property arriving home late woke us every night. Neighbours one night had a loud party with screaming, yelling and swearing (this isn’t particularly the fault of the property, just something to be aware of when booking). I can sleep through party music but this was next level, I woke multiple times thinking someone was hurt or in danger because of the screaming. All in all, all of us staying struggled to sleep well during our stay due to these factors. We had booked 10 months or so in advance. On looking at the property listings, the prices had gone up significantly - likely because there was an event on in the area that weekend. We were not offered any compensation for the inconvenience aside from not being charged more since the prices had gone up. This made us feel that the prices had been increased after we booked and that this “double booking” was actually planned/allowed in order to make more money. This may not be the case, but it still does not leave a good taste in the mouth.

Summary: Cute place, great location, but inconsiderate property management
