If you are preparing a celebration meal, additional halogen hobs and a pizza oven can be provided, and the large dining table is plenty big enough for everyone to sit together. If you prefer eating outdoors, a barbecue pack can be arranged with the owners prior to arrival (at cost), or you could then gather around the firepit, watch the sun go down and while away at the magnificent night’s sky. The property is set in 2000-acre grounds and benefits from a private lochside belonging to the estate. With mountains, lochs and rivers all around, this is the perfect escape for guests who enjoy the countryside. This area of Perthshire is well known for its extended array of activities. If you want to tackle one of the many munros and corbetts of central Scotland, including Ben Lawers and Schiehallion, or go salmon and trout fishing, mountain biking, horse riding, road cycling and play a game of golf, you couldn’t be in a better location. From your doorstep there are woodland walks through the grounds or down to the private area on Loch Tay, and there is lots of wildlife to look out for, including red squirrels, pine martens, roe deer and on the loch and river you may catch a glimpse of oystercatchers, ospreys, dippers and otters and beavers. The picturesque village of Kenmore, at the head of Loch Tay, is only 5 minutes’ drive and has a sandy beach, some lovely eateries, a deli and a local shop with a post office. A visit to the Scottish Crannog Centre, a reconstruction of an Iron Age settlement, is also well worth a visit. Kenmore’s local inn is the oldest in Scotland and was visited by famous poet Robert Burns, you can find a poem he wrote about the town on the chimney breast above the fireplace. On-site activities can be organised for your group by the owners prior to your stay (at cost) and include airsoft, zorb football and highland games. Off-site activities include a highland safari, canyoning, water sports, white water rafting, clay pigeon shooting and quad biking. For days out, visit Aberfeldy with a whisky distillery, galleries, interesting local shops, a cinema, cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as historic buildings and monuments. The towns of Killin, Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Perth are all within driving distance, and winter sports at Aviemore is just over 1½ hours’ drive away. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
